2014
From the classic P.G. Wodehouse stories of the amiably dense Bertie Wooster and his estimable manservant Jeeves, two of the theatre’s most celebrated talents have fashioned a jolly musical chock full of hilarity and invention. Bertie is looking forward to enlivening a charity benefit when his beloved banjo mysteriously goes missing. Assisted by the unflappable Jeeves, Bertie instead entertains the audience with an improvised account of one riotously raucous weekend.
With book and lyrics by Alan Ayckbourn this tale of escalating chaos and labyrinthine high jinks unfolds to the accompaniment of one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most vivacious and sprightly scores.
The show featured a live band of 6 musicians and a company of 10 professional actors – several of whom have West End credits.
Bertie Wooster is played by Sam Harrison who appeared in the UK tour of ‘Phantom of the Opera’. Reginald Jeeves is played by Jonathan Coote who played Sir Humphrey in the West End production and tour of ‘Yes Prime Minister’
Musical director was Tom Carradine to has many professional West End credits to his name including ‘Les Misérables’ and ‘Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ as well as being musical director for ‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’.
